Secado de jugos en la industria azucarera como alternativa de diversificación sostenible

Updated information about different developed processes and equipments used for fruits and cane juices is offered and commented. A particular emphasis is made on the last one mentioned as well as the employment of gas-suspension drying systems because these processes constitute a technological simplification of the traditional process of sugar cane production. This process simplification diminishes the number of stages, equipments, consumptions and duration of the process. The employment of chemical products and obtaining of filter cake and molasses are eliminated also sugars and nutrients of the original juice are recovered. As contribution to make even more sustainable these processes, schemes of possible uses of the boiler residual gases as fuel or evaporation carrier for drying are intended with economic and ecological objectives as well as the introduction of compatible productions with strategic or economical goals
